Beware! They outsource everything and are just the brokers. The company that came to pick up my stuff nickel and dimed me everything. GS promised me a two day window for delivery and I was told that wasn’t going to happen. At best it was a week. I had to go over my inventory list with GS a week before the move and they added another $2k to my initial deposit and estimate. When the actual movers showed up, they started charging me more for packing materials and number of steps. Did you know one flight of stairs is 7 steps? Neither did I. So my 2nd floor apartment which has one set of stairs became an additional charge, even though I was told the first flight of stairs is free. Long story short, this company is terrible. Do not use them for moving because it will end up costing you so much more. I have moved several times and cross country and this is the worst I’ve seen as far as hidden charges. Ridiculous.

Thank you Gulf Stream Van Lines. Your reputation certainly lived up to the hype. Our move went flawlessly. I want to thank Jason for all his help setting the move up. I also want to thank Jared and his moving crew for being extremely professional and detailed throughout the entire moving process. The pick up went great and they were able to store our items in their warehouse free of charge for the first 30 days. The drop off also went very smooth the staff was very courteous. Keep up the great work! I would highly recommend this company!

I would never thought I would have to run a company down just to get a update about my items that were damage by movers.

I booked a move with Jason for February 28th, 2020. I was told that movers will be at storage unite @ 9:30 am. When I called Jason to ask how long it would be before there get there. Jason called back and told me there were only 25minutes out. Then movers called me stating they were actually 45 minutes out. Movers didn't arrive to storage unit 10:53 am. When I explain to movers that I was disappointed in the miscommunication. Jared stated to me that he had just did a long move the night before and that's why they were late. once Jared and Austin were finish loading up at the storage. Jared called me and told me before he stop at the second location to pick up a bedroom set and drop off a bedroom set. that they were going to grab lunch. Cool I had no problem with that. well that took about an hour and so before they got to the second location to load the bedroom set on the truck. so now Jared and Austin are on there way to the final location to unload . Once they arrived , they started to unload the truck. Mind you I am moving into a brand new Home and Jared and Austin damage my stairway rails and got damage on the wall here there. When walked out and noticed Jared and Austin trying to fix the leg of my big dresser. Mind you I didn't say anything because I thought one of them would be honest and tell me they broke it. instead when I text Jared and told him the dress almost fell on my four year daughter and That my flat screen tv screen was completely gone out. Jared tried to tell me that it was just throw in the storage united and some other BS about my dresser leg being broken when they moved it and that was a lie. Then Jared text back that he had no clue as to what happen and that he assumed I knew when they picked up the leg was loose. and that he put a different screw and glue in the hole for it to stay. first Jared stated to me he was the one in charge. no that my stuff is damage he going to put me in contact with person about him. bull shit.Jared claimed he would send info over on a claim. First I never heard anything back. I kept calling and sending texts. I got the run around about they never had anyone file claim, then oh he waiting on info from his agent. then Jared text with the bull that his agent was out for lunch and that it is his father in law , so he know he will call back. still nothing. I have call so many times no answer or other sale rep tell me that Jason is not there. I even emailed Jason and the client care team. still no response. Gulfstream Valine's better best believe I will be filing a formal complaint with the department of transportation , The American moving and storage association and The Butter Business Bureau.

I have tried to understand very well and be calm. But they just want to push buttons so now you have pushed the right ones.

I was recently moving Brentwood,Nashville to Melissa,Texas. At first to attract business they gave quote for 3000 and noted the items wronglyandGot1/3Money. Then after 2 weeks they called and want check in items and started correcting saying oh it was large box we put quote for small box and started demanding 5600 otherwise no refund if cancel. Then at the times of moving they raised to 6500 and start demanding and very rude . At the time of delivery the mover guy was fully drunk and start demanding to pay by cash remaining even though it was opted to pay by check.very very horrible experience

Today, I got an email from Gulf Streams that said they would pursue legal action if I did not remove the review. Yet another shady business practice. They did not refund my money until my bank went after them.

Beware of Gulf Stream Van Lines’ shady business practices. They did no work for us (a single-income, veteran family) and are refusing to refund $1600 after two hours. We made a reservation, and tried to cancel within two hours. We had read the cancellation policy with the agent, and it said clearly we had 48 hours to cancel. Two hours later, I emailed per the agreement. Hearing nothing, I called an hour after that, and was told it was too late because they had already dispatched the job, and they would not refund our deposit. In confusing print it says they will not refund if the job has been dispatched, but the agent didn't clarify, and we were very up front that we weren't quite sure and still had some decisions to make. We asked specifically if we could cancel within that 48 hour time period, and were told yes. When I asked the customer service rep if I could speak to a manager, the rep hung up on me. I have not been able to talk to anyone else in customer service, and accounting just said they would not refund the money. We have not been able to get a time stamp of when they actually dispatched the job. No matter the time, though, the spirit of the agreement is that we cannot use their service, there was no impact on them to cancel because we had just booked it, but it is a significant financial burden on us, and they refused to refund us the deposit. This is essentially stealing money from people. Their is effectively no cancelling with them, and they have set up their customer service and accounting to be inaccessible. There are many other companies - consider using one of them.

We needed to pivot our movers in less than 1 week. Moving wholesale company provided us with Gulf Stream Van Lines. We had a big task and tight budget, which Jared and his team met. They were on time, friendly, even with the weather less than desirable. Overall move took several days, because of our new house closing needs. Jared and his team packed the truck professionally, with care, and once it was unpacked, they were willing to help put items, like beds and dressers back together, with tools they brought. We would highly recommend Gulf Stream Van Lines for anyone considering a moving company, with attention to detail, care, and can-do attitude. Great job team - thank you!

Thank you GS Van Lines for everything you did for my family during our move. A family member passed away in Florida and we needed to move to Jacksonville very quickly. Jason was able to get me a quote same day and we left our deposits to reserve the space on the truck. They drivers that showed up were very friendly and did a great job packing all of our items very securely. We took up more space on the truck then originally thought so it costs us a bit extra but we were ok with that because they did such a great job. They were able to get our itemstojacksonville in 10 days which was very impressive l. The drop off went as smoothly as the pick up. I would highly recommend this company if you have to make a long distance move anywhere in the country. Keep up the great work! We will be using this company again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This is a FRAUDULENT SCAM OPERATION and they will STEAL your money and leave you stranded. Do not be tempted by their estimate because they will DOUBLE the price after backing you into a corner with your move. If you want to read the details of my experience, I am listing them below.

-Charles Murphy contracted a move with us and promised us 3 movers, created a detailed list identical to the items we were moving, and created a contracted price where we would only be changed if we added additional items. He collected a deposit through an echeck for 1/3 of the total cost, then 1/3 would be paid when the movers arrived, and finally 1/3 when the move was completed.

-the scam makes you pay in echeck, cash, or Zelle to pocket the money and to say it was not “fraud” since you authorized it. It is a scam, however, and your “authorized money” will be stolen by this company.

-“customer service director” Olivia Reese will be available as you schedule and plan your move but will SUDDENLY become unavailable and “busy” when you have problems with the move. SHE WILL REFUSE TO SPEAK WITH YOU to resolve the move.

-on the day of the move, there will be chaos and confusion and Olivia will promise you a time, the movers will be extremely late, and they will push back the arrival time until AFTER customer service representatives have left for the day, leaving you stranded as they demand more money via Zelle or cash

-only 2 movers (not the contracted 3 will arrive) and before even looking at your stuff will begin saying “this is way more than the contract”

-I have all standard size lightweight ikea furniture that identically matched the contracted move. The movers said it was “more than the contract” even though the items were identical. They demanded double the approved amount to be paid to them on the spot! Olivia Reese at this time will no longer answer her phone and NOBODY FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL ANSWER YOUR CALL. The movers WILL NOT LET YOU SPEAK TO THE DISPATCH.

-This the scam: they back you into a corner, leave you without help from the company, demand cash money to leave no trace-THEY ARE SCAMMING CON ARTISTS.

-if you are smart and refuse to pay additional to the contracted amount, they will leave BUT STEAL YOUR DEPOSIT

-if you try to resolve it, Olivia Reese will REFUSE TO TALK TO YOU and will WITHHOLD HER MANAGERS NAME

-Lily from customer service will answer and repeatedly tell you “Olivia is busy” and that if you call back “she will still be busy”. At this point they have scammed you, stolen your money, and the director no longer wants to speak to you because your money is in her pocket.

-These are heartless, horrible human beings who want to create chaos during your move and scam you. DO NOT CONSIDER HIRING THEM! This operation is fueled by criminals and should be shut down by authorities.

This company doesn't do what they claim. My "estimate" was only supposed to be $2595 and as long as I didn't add items it would be okay. Understand I only had a queen mattress, box, pie shelf, recliner, two med/sm bookcases and about 50 totes or boxes, and a couple of other lightweight things (rolling rack, small wicker side table, etc).

I was told one of their trucks would pick up my items, their dispatcher would call three days before pickup and verify everything.

- dispatcher called only two days before supposed pick up

- truck was not marked and from a different company

- could not get in touch with the Mike who did my estimate

- my estimate was worthless as the person picking up my stuff said I had double what was quoted. He redid the paperwork and added $3,000 to the cost including fees and such that wasn't I wasn't supposed to be charged.

- told by new company that the items loaded would be transferred to another truck as the pick up people couldn't make the delivery as they are not personally approved to drive in TX

- I did get the new costs down a bit but now my son will have to make a special trip to bring them to me. This is what I had to do to get the prices down.

This company was acting as a broker only and while I don't totally blame the new company, I am in TX now without my stuff and it can legally be delivered up to 21 days from now. I have no delivery date. I have paid them already so I can't get anything back from either place.

If you can do it at all, use a reputable company. The internet does have several lists of the best companies to use. Or better yet, get a U-Haul or Penske or Budget truck, hire a couple of people and move it yourself. You'll be happier and have a much better move.

We are moving an hour and a half away. We had Everything packed and wrapped. Mattresses, tables, etc. My father was quoted $2400 for this move. This included the truck, them loading up the truck, driving it down and unloading it. Simple job right? Also this is not my parents first move, this seemed like average pricing. Well, the men showed up looked at the house and walked around and go “ok well it’s gonna be more. It’s gonna be $8100 more”. So at this point we are looking at $10,500. My parents stuff was NOT going to fill up that truck. They also told us that they would not be able to deliver the truck until Monday and it’s Friday today. MY FATHER HAS TERMINAL CANCER! He can’t go without a bed for 3 days. Hence why they’re moving. To be closer to his doctors and a smaller home. My dad isn’t working right now. Well my parents did a $858.22 deposit and had a signed contract. My parents called the company just to get their deposit back.

Both my mother and father tried to call the company back and all they asked for was their deposit back since nothing was touched and my dad being on a fixed income $858.22 is a lot of money. Well they basically told my mom “No” and then told my dad “well we can always reschedule you”

No sir! Absolutely not! You just tried to take advantage of a terminal cancer man on a fixed income! Who the hell do you think you are trying to not just take $858.22 for doing literally nothing but you tried to over charge him for a 90 min move and said it would cost $10,500. My father told them every single piece of furniture that would needed moved.

My father has medical bills to no end for his constant treatments but sure, let’s also swindle him for 3 bedrooms, a living room, a dining table and about 30 boxes. That sounds real ethical.

P.S. they also accept their deposit as an electric check only so that it cannot be disputed by your bank.

The sales people will tell you whatever you want to hear and pressure you to say yes to a deal. I wasn’t sure I was going to need movers, and the sales guy, Charles, sold me on the promise that they have a 48 hour cancellation policy, full refund, etc.

When I called to cancel they were extremely rude to me and accused me of lying about not needing movers and harassed me about who I was working with instead. Despite the fact that I cancelled 3 hours after making my reservation, they charged my card for the cost anyway. If you ask about it, they will tell you to wait for an email from accounting, which never comes.

If you work with these people, make sure your bank has an active fraud-alert system. You’re going to need it.

Husband called and talked to Charles who had him do an inventory over the phone. He tells him they have a load coming local from DC and the truck can be filled for the return trip, and how they use very large commercial vehicles around 32 ft in length. Spuse later gets a copy and notices the couch, table, dining table and 4 chairs, and bed are missing from the list. He calls him back and tells him. Next say or so we get a call from a mover (BAM - they are brokers) who immediately tries to raise the price $2500 saying it was based on the inventory sheet (the WRONG sheet). He tells him no and he says well he can do $1000. (his name is Gordon). He tells him no because he was very very rude. He called and talked to Olivia to cancel the order since it was obviously broken and she said she would run it by bookkeeping the next WEEK. They have you by the short hairs. Note the contract says if you rate them online, you will not get your deposit back. If you sue them, you pay for their attorney as well. He calls her back and she swears we will have a good mover and for money they can guarantee no problems. Mover to show on the 15th at 10. The two he hired showed up at 10, he didn't show until 12:30. He showed up in a freaking Penske truck!!! He tried to reach Todd to find out where the truck is that will hold 1500 boxes and shock of shocks, all 3 times he was *busy.* We had paid somebody to put all boxes in the carport so they didn't have to go up and down stairs so much. Mover tells us this job was by the load, not sq ft (which we got charged for) and that he usually doesn't do these things this fast and all that. They get it loaded and forgot the bed rails, plants, etc. He says he will be in WV in the morning at 10, he drives straight through. I told him we were told it would be two days later and he said no, tomorrow.

I drove straight through and was up 54 hours by then. We get here and get a call he won't be there until around 3:30. When he shows I asked him what happened to driving straight through and he said he went home to sleep. The unloaders on this end asked first thing did the others not wrap anything, turns out they severely damaged my brand new chest freezer!! DO NOT EVER USE A BROKER, IMO DIRTY DOGS Let me add spouse is a 69-year-old retired veteran.

I am so frustrated with these bad shady people, they just stole my deposit money!

They asked me for a list of items that I was moving and I gave them the list including dimensions and quantities, and they agreed to move my stuff, for the price that I was given, they even made a list of items that I was putting in The truck, but when they show up to my house the driver refused to take my stuff arguing that I didn’t get enough space in the truck, WTF!! So be careful if you want to hire this people because they will tell you that you can put as many things as you want in the truck but the shady part is that they never explain to you how much space they will assign in the truck for your stuff, that way the driver shows up to your house and once he sees your stuff he automatically will refuse to take your load arguing not having enojada space in the truck for your stuff, then you said ok I’m goin to call to get my deposit back and they will fight you over the phone so you don’t get your money back!!

I will never hire these Type of service again I rather move my own stuff on a rental truck is chipper easier and you don’t have to be dealing with bad people!!

I still want my money back and I will do anything to not let these people get away with stilling money from me!!

Do not use this company! I want to share my experience with Gulf Stream. We are a military family and recently our 19 year old daughter passed away unexpectedly. My husband was deployed at the time and had to come home early. After losing our child he put in his retirement papers, and he’s moving the kids and I to be closer to family. We had a mover set up who saw everything in our house and he told us he’d move us for $3200. Gulf Stream said they’d price match and that they were accredited unlike the other guy we had originally planned on using. He assured us that the price wouldn’t change, so my husband gave Gulf Stream a check for $1891. The movers showed up late due to the truck breaking down, and when they showed up the guy told my husband it would be $9,000, we don’t even have that much stuff, we aren’t keeping everything. I then spoke to the mover’s boss and when I told him what we were taking, he said they’d move it and they thought we were taking everything in the house. About 30 minutes later the mover that was at our house said they couldn’t do the move because there was too much stuff. I told him I just spoke to his boss and explained that we weren’t moving all of our stuff and he just said, “I don’t know, maybe tomorrow” what does that even mean? I called Gulf Stream crying because I had been packing family photos and then this awful situation with the movers happened, and they just said that the $1891 has been paid and it’s non refundable. They never offered to send another moving company out or come look themselves. I can’t believe this company would treat a grieving military family this way. It’s not right.

My 89 yr old grandmother sold her house to move to a condo, and we contracted GS to pick up some family furniture from her in missouri to deliver to us in Illinois. We were told to give a 2 day window to be available for delivery. We did - Thurs/Fri. First we were told “Friday morning,” then Friday night, then Saturday morning, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, Monday morning.. and now here we are at Monday morning and NOTHING. Each time we were ready and waiting but had to call the delivery person to ask where he was - he did not call us to say he’d miss the window, he gave us no advance notice that he wouldn’t make it. He missed the window at least 6 or 7 times. Most times he was “still 300 miles away” or “still 2 hours away,” even an hour after expected delivery. Rarely did he answer the phone at all.

At this point I don’t know if he even has my furniture or if he’s stealing it or what the heck is going on. I can’t figure out why he would keep giving us times and missing them. I would not have cared if it took longer than expected, but now we’ve waited around for 5 days expecting a delivery. I’m not sure it will ever come. I’m afraid we’ve lost all the beautiful heirloom furniture from my grandmother’s house, her china, etc.

Do not contract with this business.
